Coffee for your skin..
This is what Grums, a Danish brand of natural, healthy, simple and unisex cosmetics, has imagined 🤍
Grums creates sustainable, high-quality skincare products with local coffee grounds from a roaster in Aarhus, Denmark 🇩🇰
Their mission? To create cosmetics with a sustainable spirit, without compromising quality, appearance, sensoriality or effectiveness. Nothing is left to chance: from the collection of coffee grounds to the selective choice of natural and quality ingredients and sustainable packaging.

Why coffee?
A brewed cup of coffee contains less than 1% of the nutrients contained in the coffee beans on which it is brewed. This means that more than 99% of the nutrients remain in the coffee grounds. Here are the properties of coffee in cosmetics:
Antioxidants
Every day, the skin (and the rest of the body) is exposed to free radicals due to pollution, UV rays, poor diet, cigarette smoke, etc. Free radicals are unstable molecules that attempt to stabilize themselves by binding to healthy cells in the body.
When free radicals oxidize, they also destroy the healthy cells they have attached to. Healthy cells that were keeping your skin and the rest of your body functioning optimally. In other words, free radicals can cause your skin to age faster.
Antioxidants are the best weapon against free radicals because they prevent them from oxidizing and thus destroying healthy cells.
Coffee grounds are loaded with antioxidants and therefore help protect the skin from free radical damage.
Firmness & elasticity
The grainy texture of coffee grounds makes them ideal for exfoliating the skin. Exfoliation removes dead cells from the surface of the skin, allowing new skin cells to appear.
Additionally, coffee grounds contain caffeic acid, which can help increase collagen production in the skin, making it firmer and more elastic.
Anti-inflammatory
The high amount of antioxidants present in coffee grounds also gives them excellent anti-inflammatory properties, which can help soothe the skin and reduce redness or irritation. All the care in the range is formulated without fragrance to suit the most reactive skin.
Stimulates blood circulation
Exfoliating with coffee grounds can help increase blood circulation, which makes the skin more radiant. Coffee grounds scrub is also great for removing hard skin from the shins, feet, or elbows, so the skin becomes smoother and softer.
From the coffee shop to Grums care
After collecting the coffee grounds from Coffee Shop La Cabra , Grums dries and quality checks all the coffee grounds before blending them with the carefully selected natural ingredients in each of their products.
How does Grums create its treatments from coffee grounds?
Wrapped in sugar
The tube packaging is 86% plant-based: it is made from sugar cane. This material generates much less carbon emissions than conventional plastic production, making it an eco-friendly alternative and an ideal choice for the brand's packaging.
The rest of the products in the range are presented in glass packaging.
A local approach
Grums is a Danish brand, founded in 2018 in Aarhus, Denmark. Aarhus is the hometown of the founders: it is where they live, work, produce and it is also in Aarhus that you will find La Cabra Coffee Roasters, the coffee shop where the coffee grounds are collected.
