We work every day to offer you the best clean cosmetic products.

This consists of ongoing work analyzing compositions. products in order to offer you only the noblest, cleanest ingredients and the most committed brands.

We carry out this work based on existing literature, on the latest scientific studies carried out, as well as on the opinions of the Slow Cosmétique ® movement, of which we are an official partner.

Here is the list of ingredients that we ban in our selections:

  • Mineral oils : Paraffinum liquidum, Cera microcrystallina, Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, etc.
They are derived from petrochemicals, shale, etc. They are inert fatty substances for the skin that do not interact with it. These oils form an occlusive film on the skin that prevents water from evaporating. They have a disastrous ecological balance sheet and do not bring much to the skin.
  • Fatty alcohols and solvents : Methyl / Propyl / Caprylyl -alcohol, Cetyl alcohol, Stearyl alcohol, etc.
They are used to stabilize and emulsify cosmetics. These synthetic ingredients can be irritating and are pollutants for the environment. They also have almost the same characteristics as mineral oils.
  • Silicones : Silicones have an ending in -one or -oxane: dimethicone, cyclohexasiloxane, etc.
Well tolerated by the skin, they bring softness and additional "slip" to cosmetics. However, they do not nourish the skin and, above all, they take hundreds of years to degrade. They are found in a lot of conventional cosmetics, whether rinsed or not, including shampoos, shower gels, makeup, etc.
  • Polymers : PEG, PPG but also -cellulose, crosspolymer, polypropylene, X-polymer-X, X-vinyl-X, etc.
These materials, sometimes plastic, sometimes petrochemical, have almost the same characteristics as silicones, providing a touch of softness. They can also be used as emulsifiers. They are obtained from polluting chemistry, with the use of toxic gases sometimes for ethoxylated substances (identify the ending in -eth).
    Exception :

We exceptionally tolerate the presence of certain polymers, in low doses , in certain products, like the Slow Cosmétique movement of which we are a member. Why? Their manufacture is not the most ecological, but at the skin level, nothing bad. In addition, the brands that use them (such as Zao in its varnishes) are extremely careful about the compositions they offer and as the Slow Cosmétique label mentions, they are "(...) congratulated as a whole, and rejecting them for this single ingredient would be unfair because these brands are as a whole ecological, healthy, intelligent and reasonable".
  • Aluminum Salts : Prefixes and Endings with - Aluminum -
Antiperspirant agents and subject to controversy, they are suspected of having an impact on the nervous system in the long term. Be careful, alumina is not concerned because it is inert and authorized in organic products in particular.
  • Controversial preservatives : BHT, EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, benzophenone, alcohol, -paraben-, Quaternium 15, Quaternium 18, Polyquaternium 10, DMDM Hydantoin, Chlorphenesin, Diazolidinyl uurea, Methylisothiazolinone, etc.
Preservatives are necessary for cosmetics containing water to prevent contamination and bacteriological and mold development. Some preservatives are there to protect the formula from oxidation. They are criticized for being sometimes irritants in the long term, sometimes pollutants, sometimes potential carcinogens, and sometimes endocrine disruptors.

    Exception :
We exceptionally tolerate the presence of certain preservatives not accepted in organic products (such as ethylhexylglycerin and tetrasodium glutamate diacetate), in low doses , in certain products, like the Slow Cosmétique movement of which we are a member.

  • Endocrine disruptors : they are increasingly suspected of having an impact on our hormonal and sexual health, in particular. The most common are:
    • parabens, including methyl-propyl-ethyl- and butylparaben
    • phenoxyethanol
    • triclosan and BHA
    • synthetic UV filters: benzophenone, oxybenzone
    • phthalates, including diethyl phthalate and names containing phthalic acid

This list may be subject to change based on recent studies.

The exception of solar products

Sun care is a special category. Indeed, at present, as the Slow Cosmétique ® label reminds us , there is currently no 100% clean sun care .
